Another clean up thread: Cherry Valley

Anyone here been out there post storm? I was planning to go this week and have heard that Cyclops, Black Label, and a couple other trails have been cleared.

There is news of a lot of trees on the horse trail north of No Road that has that huge mud hole. Not a "bad" thing then though eh?

    Bob,
I spent about six hours Friday and Saturday. The dog walkers have been trimming the small branches but walking the downed items. I cleared Funner, "lower" Funner, and Black Label toward No Road. Couple dozen folks walking the roads to the falls.

All trails could use a rake. Only tree remaining on Funner is down over the bridge and will need a few bodies to remove. It spans the big cedar stump on the S side to the small creek in the N side near the start of the bridge. Sits about 6' above the bridge but blocks the trail on the N side.

Doug planned on working YGD and Sick-n-twisted on Sunday. Have not set foot on Cyclops or Elevator. Burnt Escort RD has a few big trees down at the bottom. Look to be under a lot of tension.

It was nice. I was out working, didn't need to pay $75.00 and no one was checking my pass. Lots of potential at CV.

Cool! Thanks! Cyclops is totally ridable but needs a rake too. (There is one near the top of Elevator.) Any recent horse or moto damage? I'll e-mail everyone as well. Falls must be roaring about now.

Some moto tracks and excavator tank traks on the lower roads since the storm. Nothing on the trails. Looked I was the first one on Funner. The trees down at the bottom of Burnt Escort kind of funnel you towards the exit of Funner.

Well then, looks like we'll have to put in an Escalator on the other side of the road now...

That's funny I was actually going to send you a message to see if you knew what it was like out there last week. I never actually got enough free time to ride anything though.

Lots of progress like everywhere else. But, still trees down on YGD and Sick and Twisted.
Just chip, chipping away like we all are out there. Time to damage some marketable timber. Lots of people out there liking their new Silky saws.... May need to pony up and get one.

Progress report. YGD is clear. As are Sick and Twisted and Cyclops. All could use a leaf raking or the leaf blower but good to go. Elevator still has some debris on it but in good shape. No Road still has not gotten any love... Yet.

Rode Cherry Valley tonight. Despite the heavy rains trails were in great shape. Two 6-8" trees down on Funner. Another 6"er on YGD. Trail to Falls and along creek still need some work.

DNR has posted signs at most of the road and creek/river crossing stating they are going to be redoing them to address fish and silt, etc.......... no posted start dates but lists a contact of: Susan Seaberg, 360-825-1631
