    410 Fest

Evergreen is organizing a casual, 3 day festival in the highway 410 zone, near Crystal Mountain for Sept 13-15. 2 days of riding the awesome trails of the area, and one day of trail work to keep things riding well. Link to Evergreen calendar posting for info and signups:

We will be looking for ride leaders who know the area, as well as folks to help lead trail work parties for saturday.

Another fun day in the sun

What can I say. Karma was with us on Saturday, lots of sunshine, probably the last warm day of this summer.

Again, thanks to G-Man for putting this together and gathering great hard working crew. Quite a few new faces who were new to trailwork, which was exciting. Super helpful kids too! 5-year old who made it to the first lookout and 8-year old GIRL who rode all the way to the Knob! They kicked butt!

we discovered how to cut the thick woody huckleberry / salal/ whatever it was ....
first - rough cut with chainsaw,
second fine cut with brushcutter ,
third - final trim with hand tools,
fourth - rake the debris away.

Thanks to everyone who made it up. 410 is one of the most underrated zones in the west, so many miles of epic trails that just need a little more love.

I hope we can do 2 or 3 410 trail weekends next year!
Epic trails get built in the Northwest by epic people!

    Sustainable quality trails please.

    Re: 410 Fest

The trail was getting pushed over the side by the woody berries so this effort should remain effective for at least 5 and hopefully 10 or more years

    Come back often to review!
