    Winchester Area Trails

So I'm new to the area and I am looking for some good trails close by to ride. What trails would you recommend?

I have been out to Elizabeth Furnace once but only rode one trail which was mostly a hike-a-bike trail. Are there other trails that take you to the top of the mountain that are more rideable?

You could try 3rd battle of Winchester trail now it is a relatively short trail and easy trail with few log jumps and i believe 1 or 2 steep climbs. If it ever warms up and you wanna check it out pm me i'll be happy to go with you

I will check that out once we get some actual spring weather. Do you know of any places with more mileage and altitude for a longer workout?

Well if you would travel towards Hagerstown there is Greenbriar state park, gambrill state park/frederick watershed just use caution if you go to the frederick watershed there has been alot of trail vandalism (check other forums for more info/pics).

What about Sleepy Creek? I have heard there is some good stuff in there, but haven't been yet.

Third Battle is a great place to spend an hour or two riding. Nice trails without much difficult terrain. Great for beginners or those just wanting to ride for some fitness without worrying about technical terrain. If you're up for the trip, check out Davis, WV. Some of the most awesome riding in the area.

Are you allowed to take bikes on the Peters Mill trail near Edinburg? I know I've been there in my jeep before. Might be kind or boring on a bike though.
