Waynesboro VA...what's close by to ride

Visiting family in Waynesboro, VA over the weekend. Other than Sherando Lake, what is there to ride within 30 to 45 minutes drive? Much thanks!

Lots to ride. Do you want back country national forest adventure, or county park shorter loop type ride?

C'ville has Walnut Creek, as mentioned; O-Hill on the grounds of UVA. Would recommend Walnut Creek. It's like a mini Blue Ridge Mountains ride. Has vertical, technicality, and flowy sections. You can put rides anywhere from 5 miles to around 12 miles in. Well signed and maintained, although at this time of the year I'm sure some sections may be a bit grown in.

Sherando is great. Again lots of options on loops. Search the forums here for route suggestions.

GWNF west of Staunton is within your drive windown as well. Pure backcountry rides. More involving, as most routes don't have bail options, and it is much more remote although at this time of the year a lot of people are out hiking, camping, enduro'ing, etc.

Harrisonburg has Hillendale Park that has singletrack meandering through it too. Built and maintained by SVBC. Not a lot of mileage, but well built and signed.

Thanks for the replies. It was too wet to ride much of anything nearby, but took a day trip to Bryce Resort on Saturday and had a lot of fun. Will be sure to check out the other stuff mentioned in the future.

Late to the party but I recently found out about Devils Backbone Brewery which has some trails right out their door. Should be worth checking out.
