Trail recommendations N of Blacksburg, VA

I'm headed just North of Blacksburg, VA this weekend with my GF. We're looking for ~15-20 miles of intermediate+ trails to ride in the area if anyone has a suggestion or two...

If you are not already familiar with these, Pandapas Pond and Carvins Cove will be the two best visitor friendly trail systems in the area.

Awesome- Pandapas Pond looks to be spot on for what I was looking for.

Thanks a lot for the assistance.

    edub,
Try asking Bob (The Hard Dog) about Carvin's Cove.
He's got a lake house nearby, and is planning a mid-summer visit (invasion).
The best is the one you want to ride most often..

Mountain Lake conservancy looks to be like a good option too. Might be a little on the gentler side but from a few pictures I've seen the views look like they'd make up for the "boring" trails.

That said... I'll be at the pond tomorrow.

Most of Pandapas is in good shape right now. I would steer clear of Poverty Creek, though. That trail tends to retain water and stay muddy for a while. I was out there less than a week ago and part of my loop included a small section of Poverty Creek...it was basically a swamp. Everything else is fine...minimal mud.

I was at Pandapas yesterday, and Poverty Creek is drying out. Still a few bad spots, but not worth avoiding the trail (kind of hard to do, anyway)

Mountain Lake is an odd mix of gentile grass-covered doubletrack and some of the most rocky, technical trails anywhere around here (Moonstomper is a must-ride for anyone wanting to challenge there rock garden skills). I live in Blacksburg and only go up there once or twice a year. The real beauty of it is that in the dead of summer when it is 95 degrees in Roanoke, 90 in Blacksburg, it will be 80 up at Mountain Lake. It makes grat break from the heat. Also, some of that grassy double-track goes through some absolutely gorgeous forests, including a well-preserved Hemlock grove. And you can do the Dirty Dancing Tour (it was filmed there).
15mm is a second-best solution to a problem that was already solved.
