    Tidewater MTB Challenge

New to Mtbr - ride at Walnut Creek near C-ville, out there almost every day. Wondering if anyone has done this race, and if so, what they think about it. Is it worth going from charlottesville? Link here

It is so worth it!! Can not compare the terrain because I have never ridden out in Cville, but the course for this race is awesome! This will be my forth year racing the Tidewater Mountain Bike Challenge and I canít wait until Sunday, even with all the chances of rain coming up this week. Sunday looks like it will be perfect!
The beginning of the course is BMX style with some nice jumps then a nice flat twisty section before you get to the first set up gully down and ups. After that itís mostly normal trail riding (not implying that it is easy) and then towards the start/finish area you get the second set up gully down and ups. The loops are four miles so you get a chance to really know the course. Come on out you wonít be disappointed!

    Tidewater Challenge

I agree 100%, the Tidewater Challenge race course is one of the fastest and most fun race courses around this area. This will be my third year. I highly recommend it. The track will be open to pre-ride this Saturday as long as its not too muddy.

I'm pretty sure there was no "official" photography being done at the race. I took lots of pics though. What was your race number, I'll see if I happen to have any of you?

I have over 450 pics taken by a friend of one of the racers. PM me if you want, but if you don't see a pic of yourself on any of these threads, I probably don't have any of you. I tried to post pics of as many people as possible.

You can also check out the following link for pics by another photographer:

Great stuff! I didn't see myself or my girlfriend in any of those, but it is still great to reminece about what I consider the best singletrack I've ever ridden. As long as Steve keeps putting on the race, I'll be there. Oh, if you do see any pics of me and my girl, let me know. I was a Blue Sport class, I think 431, and she was Beginner Women 809.

    Cheers
