New question here. RVA, James River Trails

I am thinking of heading to Richmond this weekend to ride the loop around the James River.

Does anyone know how quickly those trails drain? Would it be okay to ride there on Sunday if it rains Saturday?

Also, does anyone have a recommended direction (clockwise vs ccw) and/or starting point?

    Thanks

I got an answer from Richmond's bike club, MORE:

"last I heard they were calling for an afternoon thunderstorm on Saturday - if that's all it is, the trails should be okay on Sunday. If we get a couple hours of rain, that's a different story.

The best places to start are Dogwood Dell (north side of the Nickel/Boulevard bridge), Reedy Creek (off of Riverside Drive) and Tredegar St (near Bele Isle). The lots at Tredegar and Reedy Creek fill up fast on sunny weekends, but there's always plenty of parking near Barker Field (Dog Park) and Dogwood Dell.

I find either direction to be fun, but I generally do the loop clockwise (and the loop in Forest Hill counter-clockwise).
