Rode the cool new Lakeside Trail at Carvin's Cove over Labor Day weekend. Parked on Timberview and went up Trough. Rode the ridge of Brushy Mountain for quite a few miles.

Passed a lot of fungi

Stopped for a short test drive on the new free ride zone at the top of the old Gauntlet

I like the berms, but the tabletops are wasted on me. One foot off the ground is my limit.:)

Rawer and wilder than the rest at the Cove, this is a great ride if you are a mostly national forest rider like me.

Don't let the name fool you. This is a challenging trail, I am guessing somewhere between a blue and a black. It is narrow with lots of exposure and a fair amount of climbing no matter which way you ride it. I believe that it is also the longest trail at Carvins Cove.

Comes out at the bottom of Gaunlet
