    rearended ,need advice

    I got rearended yesterday and my rack is slightly bent,The insurance company wants me to have the rack inspected and the damage appraised....I live in the hyattesville MD area and the rack was a Thule does anyone know where I can get this done?

    I would have to imagine that you could take it to your LBS to have this done, or maybe a place like REI or HTO? I'm not sure. In this case though, I would treat it like a kid's car seat after a wreck and just get a new one. It's not worth taking the risk.

    Thank you for the response, I originally purchased it at REI so I will try there first.

    I went through this about 2 years ago,
    I took pictures right at the scene of the damage, I had a thule t-2 rack.
    Took a few phone calls with the insurance co.
    but got a new rack. Purchased rack at ems never had to deal with them just gave the insurance co internet pricing.

    My fiance had the same thing occur. They used internet pricing and I was able to repair the rack myself with a quick cut, bend and reweld.
