Looking for a 29'er
Hi all,
Looking for a bike for a buddy of mine, hoping to find a local that's got something decent that they'd like to part with. Hardtail or FS but preferably a 29er. Fox fork is preferred, would consider others if the price is right, hydro brakes, flexible on components. Please let me know what you've got or know where theres a deal to be had.
Thanks.

I have a Specialized Epic Comp Carbon 29 that I've ridden for 6 months that I'm interested in selling. It's a 2011 model, but I bought it new this past summer. I live in northern VA.

I don't think the Fuel would be a good fit for him.
Eric, could you PM me a price on the Spec?

Tony - I'm new to this forum and I can't send a PM yet, as I haven't
replied to enough messages, but here's my reply:
First, I forgot to include that my Epic is a size Large (I'm 6'2").
It's a bit small for me, which is why I just ordered a new XL sized
bike, and why I have one for sale.
If the Large size is fine for your buddy, I'll say that I bought it new
for $3300 in June, haven't seriously crashed it (only a couple of
minor incidents so far), just installed a new chain and cassette,
and expect to have both shocks fully-serviced next month. I
haven't thought too much about a selling price yet, as I haven't
received the new bike (maybe this weekend!), so I'll start with
$2500. FYI, from Specialized's website, the current model has
an MSRP of $4400.

I've got an almost brand new 2011 Trek Rig frame size Large (19") that I'm selling and that I'd be happy to build up with used parts I have laying around (good parts, SRAM x.7, Avid BB7s, and Bontrager seatpost, saddle, stem, bar), but I don't have a suspension fork - would need to pick one up somewhere.
It won't be a bling build but it would definitely be singletrack-worthy.
Trek Rig has sliding dropouts so could run geared or single speed.
Let me know if this interests you and I could get you all the specs and price it out. Would probably be around $600 with a rigid steel fork (which I have) or $800+ for G2 suspension fork. Used parts but in good condition, and frame is like I said almost brand new (only a handful of short rides on it).

Eric, thanks for the offer but that's really too much bike for my buddy. And out of his price range.
Ken, thanks but he needs a medium frame.
Drazil, you have a PM.

Well Drazil deleted his post and hasn't replied to my PM so I'm still on the hunt.
Looking for a medium size frame hardtail 29'er with mid-range components. Looking to spend around $800-900.

Have you checked cl in the area at all?

Yeah, I poke around on CL every other day or so. Found some, most were the wrong size.
