Which IMBA Epic Trail to Ride 1st Week of April?

I'll be in Blacksburg, VA with at least one day free during the first week of April. There are three IMBA epics within driving distance:
    1. http://www.imba.com/epics/southern-traverse
    2. Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area | International Mountain Bicycling Association
    3. Gauley Headwaters Epic | International Mountain Bicycling Association

Which trail is most likely to be passable (minimal hike a bike and damage to trail) at this time of year? Which one would you recommend? Which one is best without a shuttle?

    Thanks!

Check a map, none of those are all that close, plan a a lot of driving The closest of those (Souther Traverse) is at least 2-1/2 hours away.

If you want a great full day of riding about 40 minutes from Blacksburg, check out Carvin's Cove in Salem. If you are looking for more epic length, I'd look at douthat linked up with some of the surrounding trails.

Thanks, I know how far away they are. I'm good at driving. Can you answer any of my questions? Thanks!

FYI, Douthat is an IMBA Epic and 1-1/2 hours from Blacksburg.

So what did you decide on? I know at least two of those are resting quietly beneath the snow and one is rumored to have a lot of trees down, but sounds like you already got the beta you need
