    Healing vibes for Scott Scudamore

One of the pillars of the MTB community around these parts suffered a spinal injury at Bryce Mountain on Sunday. Send some healing vibes his way please!

Scud is such an awesome guy!

Funds from the Paranormal (https://www.bikereg.com/Net/paranormal-6-hour) will be going towards him and his family this year.

So sad when I received the call about it yesterday! Thoughts out to him and his family.

My brother told me about this. He said it was a rough weekend for riders back home there. Another guy got some ribs and a shoulder busted up on Narrow Back. Not as serious as Scud, but proof we all need to be mindful of the dangers of what we enjoy so much. Prayers for both these guys.

Wow. I'm blown away. Thoughts and prayers going out to a MTB brother and his family. You NEVER want to see someone go down like that.

Does anyone know if it was the big gap jump or the whale tail features?

    Healing vibes for Scott Scudamore

Scott is being transferred from UVA to Kessler Rehabilitation Center in NJ today. "He continues to get a little stronger everyday. Although he still has no feeling below his neck and remains on a respirator to breathe, he is extremely motivated to regain anything he can".

Bike Magazine has a brief write up about Amy Dombrosky and Scud.

I just read of Scud's passing on Bike.com and he seemed liked a really awesome dude who lived for cycling.

I am curious about his accident. Was the jump he hit at Bryce a considerably large one, or one that was much bigger than he was accustomed to doing? Was he wearing a full-face helmet, back protector, or neck restraint device? Are we even sure any of that stuff would have mattered?

Just curious on the circumstances of his accident. I'm sure he'd be happy to know folks are enjoying the sport with a mind towards safety.

My understanding is that it was one of those just absolute freak accidents, one in a million where it just happened. Again hearsay, but I think he "rolled" the whale tale at Bryce and got a little squirrely off the top, and lost his balance/fell to the dirt. I'm sure someone here knows more than I.

Really sucks...you see these guys on Nitro circus do the most insane stuff and eat it so hard sometimes and walk away. He was well experienced from what I can tell also and a stand up guy.
