    Hagerstown ?

Is there any decent riding around Hagerstown? I'm looking for stuff not much more than an hour's drive. Thanks.

Greenbrier State Park, Gambrill State Park and the Frederick Watershed are all less than 30 minutes from Hagerstown.

Try this link. It is to a local Frederick bike shop that lists all the trails around Frederick.

The Bicycle Escape Where to Ride

I also found a link that shows even more trails with maps, but I cannot find the site in my history (of course, I forgot to bookmark it. :-) ).

    Re: Hagerstown ?

Just under an hour from Hagerstown. There's some excellent technichal riding at Michaux but if you don't know your way around it can be hard to navigate. You have to piece together a lot of shorter trails with some gravel roads to make a long ride.

Id suggest either getting in on one of the group rides or doing the quad trails. Very difficult but well mapped and the junctions are marked in the woods.

The ATV trail map is on the PA DNR website. Just google Michaux ATV trail map.

It just occurred to me that there's maps of the mountain bike race courses on the race Michaux website. Google race michaux

Michaux was my go-to ride when I lived near the Hagerstown airport. There's some damn good riding there and I only scratched the surface.
