    Greenbriar AMBC Single Speed 30Apr2006

Has anyone ever done this race on a SS? What kind of climbing and trail conditions exist? What size of gear will the winner be riding? I'm new to the area and would like to have an idea of how technical the trail is and what gear I should use.

    Thanks!

I'm not an SS rider, but having ridden the course on my gearie, I think I would opt for a bit more spin on the flats and descents, say 32:18, so you can get through the techincal sections and for the easier climbing. The course varies between smooth singletrack to long rock gardens to singletrack to a near-impossible climb, back to singltrack, to a long, rocky climb and then finally a rocky and very steep descent. Gearing won't matter on the that descent, you're just going to be holding on for your life.
