Frederick, MD -- Decent kid's beginner trails?
Looking to possibly go out with my 12 year old son to ride some trails this weekend.
Since he has never ridden anything more difficult than the hills around Baker Park, are there any particular trails we should look at to get his feet wet?
If it matters, he rides a Trek MT220 24" MTB with no upgrades besides pedals with better grip/pegs.
We want something a more challenging than the C&O canal. Otherwise, that is where we may end up.
BTW, he has no fear of jumps. He is jumping off the big hills around Baker Park and loves that aspect of riding. I just don't want to get into a trail too difficult where other parts are too much for him.
Thanks in advance!

If you don't mind a little drive I'd go to schaeffer farms, or black hill regional park both are well suited for novice/beginner riders
I was thinking about Black Hill, but Schaeffer looks good, too.
Thanks for the suggestions.
What are your thoughts on Greenbrier? Any specific trails a good idea for us to try?
If you son is comfortable on his bike, Blue from Hamburg towards Gambrill is fairly tame. Or, cross the road and take the lower of the two trails, (again Blue), and ride that down and up, or hit Knuckle buster about 100 yards in on your right. I took my son up ther on a 24" around that age, and he did fine. Just keep it within his comfort level, and he'll love it!
