Unless you're talking about riding a snowboard, I'd say it's no-go. Either deep under snow or knee deep mud until May.

To fat to snowboard or ski so I guess I won't be making a trip out there anytime soon unless I get a craving for a burrito.

We went there in May of last year and it was awesome. A burrito might be worth the trip before then though.

hmm, something seems wrong with that logic?

    public announcement from tucker county:

As far as riding the trails in the winter. If they got snow on em.....please don't ride on em!
they are used by cross-country skiers and ruts from tires, feet, etc pretty much ruin them for skiing.

it's a ski town now. bike town will be back in a few months maybe

here is some davis in the winter since i am a video making dork:

it made the list, but kind of a lame description considering you can ski, mountain bike, whitewater paddle, and rock climb all in the same day in a 10 mile radius.

Plan to come during the 2nd Annual Canaan MTB Festival this year! (June 25-27)
And not to mention the St champs XC race in July.. I get to play race director this year So gettin it goin early.... thanks for the topo image for the map i ripped off ya ODN!

Hey oldnoob, if you want the full size, new one, I can email it to you. If you didn't get the one off Singletracks.com it's not the newest one. Glad to get you the new one. Will try to come up and help again this year.

Somethings wrong with that guys ski binding. Seems to have broken free in the heel area. Also, the bike only has half of a fork. Man, you guys up in Davis need some help.

The Best Damn Cup of Hot Chocolate I Ever Had.
Blackwater Canyon, Lindy Point Overlook. Two weeks ago.

A picture of the best damn cup of hot chocolate I ever had.

It's the best damn cup because before I could drink it I had to hike a mile through heavy snow down this road:

and then half a mile through this forest:

while wearing these damn snowshoes for the first time.

    Fresh made.

I don't care how cute Bambi looked. I wasn't sharing.

nice shots on a nice day. Looks like poor bambi was diggin for food. This is a tough winter on deer for sure as the snowpack continues to increase. Another 12-20" predicted by this saturday and march looks to be much of the same as we have seen to the dismay of mountain bikers. Record for canaan is 259".... we are at 219" now. i think we will crush it this season
