If your bike isn't ready, shoot me an email at pmoravek@fitnessresource.com
I can probably arrange a demo bike for you.

I'm in that area for work (it's the I.T. capital!) a few days midweek and usually ride there evenings with various groups of people. (tonight @630, tues@6 this week) usually pretty fast since the trails are fast and rolling, but sometimes the group splits into 2. there is night riding there also.
    just another piece of chaga

This month I started riding with a mountain bike group called Gears and Beers, mostly out of Lake Fairfax/Colt's Neck. It sounds like the same times they ride, are you a part of that group? If not, go to meetup.com and search for mountain biking, you will find Gears and Beers. You should join, we meet up and ride and then have happy hour in the parking lot... The other riders are friendly and all different levels. Real good people!!

Don't worry about your cardio, there should be all levels there. Do you know the Colt Neck trails? Just show up and have fun.
