    Brandywine

Just a post to express my love for these trails. I see a lot of topics devoted to White Clay/Middlerun, but rarely anything on Brandywine, which, in my opinion is a far superior riding experience... but it just may be that it appeals to my tastes. And in my experience it offers some of the most technical lines and rock gardens in the area. Found a few new super rocky technical trails behind the JCC that I've never noticed before today too.

    That's it.

Back in the early nineties all the single track on the east side of the creek was open. I actually liked those trails better than the Woodlawn sections. Now it is almost all closed.

I agree with the OP. I grew up 10 minutes from there and hiked all the trails before I started riding them. You are correct about the technical aspect, especially behind the JCC. When you take that first left from the main trail at the end of Garden of Eden road, that is my favorite section around this area. Try riding it without un-clipping especially now that there is a tree down across it. I can nail it probably 2 out 3 times. At the end instead of heading down towards the river I turn around and take the same trail back but split off to the lower section about 1/2 way back. More rocks and more fun then a super steep climb with a switch back at the very end. The Woodlawn sections are fairly tame but you can tack on miles and there is some climbing out there too.

Brandywine is a sweet set of trails! I love WCC/MiddleRun for the speed, but brandywine is true MTB hands down. See you guys out there on the trails!

I"ve been riding at Brandywine since the late eighties when I switched to mountain biking from road..... The only problem is the whole thing is disproportionately up hill....

It's much more disproportionate now that I'm 55 than it was when I was 30....
