    Winter Projects 13/14:

With all this talk about Keyesville, the ski areas opening, and the temps here dropping below freezing, I am curious. Whats in the stand this winter? Pictures if you got em.
Seek: Koski Trailmaster. Breezer Series 2, or 3. Fillet brazed Ibis Custom. Cunningham Racer. Otis Guy (but not that softride model). That's all I need I don't need anything else... except... except for an old Mountain Goat bar stem combo. And that's all I need. I don't need anything else. Except.....

I would like to bring the Goat to Keyesville this year. The only thing really holding up the project is finding the proper bar/stem for it.

If that never materializes, I will defer to a Salsa bar/stem or a Nitto Bullmoose.

I think I have everything to put together the 37 Schwinn C Klunker now.

Changing a few little things on the Moots (wheels, levers etc.).

Still need to find a different seat post for the 81 Ritchey.

I may take the dirt drop off the 85 TC and use it on something else.

    Clean the garage

Finish finding the last few truly correct bits for my recently acquired '61 Herse 650B.

Nothing else on the horizon currently, had a little gut check the other day when I counted the collection, 49, damn....

Something needs to give if I'm going to get more.....

My winter project: get in shape.

And if I find a few odds and ends that I need I'll work on bikes.
Each bicycle owned exponentially increases the probability that none is working correctly.

Correcting my mistakes on a few bikes with names scribbled on them.

Getting an Accutrax fork painted Red-White-Blue (or Mauve-Eggshell-Cerulean) and swapping M732 components for all the 3DV Grafton/Topline stuff on another scribbled name bike.

Parting out and putting up a few bikes including a Xizang, an 8900 and a few others.

Oh and putting a cupola and weather vane on my roof.

I'm going to be building up the '91 Steelman that used to be Rumpfy's via Migs. I'm going to be trying a local powdercoater for the fork and other odds and ends. (I'm leaving the frame itself ugly.)

My other winter project is to find some way to keep another bike or two in my apartment without upsetting the domestic balance of happiness. My GF isn't really what you'd term a cyclist and ... well ... you know the rest.

I keep thinking that us NYC folks need to set up one of those "social clubs" that the old Italian guys sit around in. That way we could pool our bike storage. And get a keg.
    Don't call it a gooseneck.

Went to a party in a shop behind a house a friend and his buddies rented for just such a thing. It was a great set-up. Mechanic area with several stands and tools and a huge lounge/party area with all the amenities. Funny thing was, my friend owns a shop and has everything he needs at his disposal closer to home, but pays his portion of the monthly cost of the clubhouse purely for the social aspect.

Wow that does sound cool but you would really, really have to trust your fellow club members.
