This one sold for $30 on craigslist, then $600 and now it is listed for $1000 on ebay.
    LOL!!!
    Nice!
BTW, you are going to "get it" for listing this.

says 26 x 1.50 on the tires... so it IS a mountain bike (with "urban" or slick tires), not a "rare" 700c attitude.
If steel is real then aluminium is supercallafragiliniun!

It'd be great for someone wanting a less than perfect one that they were actually going to ride off road.
Need: McMahon brake for roller cam mounts, Mountain Goat fork.

$700 for a single-speed hybrid? The bike companies love those crazy hipster kids...

One of the pics shows what looks like rack mount holes in the seat stays. The mountain bike frames don't have those.

Don't know what you think you're seeing. Do you mean the holes somebody drilled in the dropouts ?

Actually, two different bikes. A wife listed one on CL for $30; her husband corrected it to $600; it's now sitting in my garage destined for another VRC member.

I love the saddle lock - just in case someone wanted to steal the seat, but leave the bike behind

That happens all the time in urban areas. I bolt mine down that I lock up.

Seek: Koski Trailmaster. Breezer Series 2, or 3. Fillet brazed Ibis Custom. Cunningham Racer. Otis Guy (but not that softride model). That's all I need I don't need anything else... except... except for an old Mountain Goat bar stem combo. And that's all I need. I don't need anything else. Except.....

ermm... ok, hardly what I'd consider proof positive... but 26" wheels designed for clearance around 2" tires is obviously not a road bike, riiight?
unless Gary was hot to trot with the new trend toward suburban 26er hybrids?

it's a mountain bike, dude slapped slicks on a mountain bike, cool beans, I do it too, but it's still a mountain bike, and only as rare as any other klein of the same year and paint scheme. only this one's had holes drilled in the dropouts...

if the goal's neon urban chic, go for the giant copy! probably has professionally done rack mounts... *ahem*

EDIT: control tech suspension seatpost but only about 1" of visible post beneath the sliding cover, new gen xt 9 speed rear D under a 7 speed chain, mismatched cantis, trico gel seat, GIANT cheapo bar ends aiming for the sky?

think giant REALLY stole the name "mashup" from this bike... le sigh!
(all in good humour, no offence meant)

Oh, I understand the purpose of a saddle lock. I was referring to the fact that the saddle is crap, especially compared to the bike. Mainly just attracting attention to low-end "comfort parts" on high-end "performance bikes."

They wanted to. Then Seinfeld hung one up as decoration. If they were cheaper these days they'd be all over TGI Friday walls.
