    Spring Cleaning - Grove/Zinn/Kona content

Thinning the bike collection down from around 20 to only 3 sure gives me a lot more time to spend tinkering with each. I think I've finally gotten
the Grove to where I really like it. Even had a chance to paint the fork to match. Bonus points for the Control Tech seatpost!

The Zinn got a new bar/stem combo which improved handling greatly. Love this bike!

Kona Cinder Cone was converted back to geared duty from single speed.

Never bothered to measure...I'd say it's a medium.

Not sure. I've posted pics here before trying to find out and never got an answer. They are similiar to several but haven't found an exact match yet. They are, however, the easiest brakes to set up, EVAR!!!

I remember a thread on it but how about some measurements on that Zinn? Year ect.
Zip ties? Not on my bike!

    Want:
    650B rims or wheel set. 80's vintage 32 or 36 x 135mm

I don't have any measurements handy right now. From what I've been able to find out by emailing Lennard is that it was probably built for someone on his Zinn/Alfalfa/Shimano road racing team around the mid 80's. Apparently after race duty, it was repainted white (you can see the fuchsia team color under the white) and re-decaled. Oddly enough, the Grove is a team bike as well...

    Original color of the Zinn...

All the pics of Rim Crushers I've seen have the hole completely drilled out. I don't think they're Joe's, Critical Racing, Grafton, Curve or Gravity Research

Here's a thread seeking the same info...unfortunately, same result... View topic - Red Canti's | Retrobike

The family having the garage sale were from Colorado...Boulder I believe. Nice vintage mtb's are pretty rare in the VA/DC area. This was a fairly good deal for 10 bucks.

    Sweet keepers.

    What about 17 you purged?
Seek: Koski Trailmaster. Breezer Series 2, or 3. Fillet brazed Ibis Custom. Cunningham Racer. Otis Guy (but not that softride model). That's all I need I don't need anything else... except... except for an old Mountain Goat bar stem combo. And that's all I need. I don't need anything else. Except.....

This guy was being a pain and didn't want to go back in his tub after cleaning today so he got to chill out in the snake room for a while...

Ball Python is my guess. Snakes are fantastic pets. Vintage bikes are good pets too I suppose.

I would have to stumble on one heck of a find to ever consider replacing the Grove. I'll probably just continue upgrading it. That was one good thing about thinning the herd so much. It does leave room for that epic find...
