    SFO Airport book

    So who else got one?

SFO - San Francisco International Airport - Museum - From Repack to Rwanda The Origins, Evolution, and Global Reach of the Mountain Bike

Every page is a centerfold, YEHAAAAA!

Only flub, I found is the picture of the Specy Sworks Stumpjumper FSR described as the Sworks Epic.

I remain astonished by the amount of care the museum staff put into the project.

Don't have one but wish I had. Though it was pretty cool sitting on my tailgate after a ride with Jacquie Phelan poring through her book.

I agree. Everything from how they handled collection to storage to display and even the part where they didn't know what to do when the tires started getting flat.

The book is well done. Those guys are amazing and I have always enjoyed the displays that they've put together.

Thanks for all the lenders of the bikes and other items from the guys that visit this forum. I enjoyed seeing your stuff. And for Joe Breeze for doing a lot of wrenching and parts procurement.

Find another museum! There's something to be said for having an old bike on display rather than sitting in a dark basement.

Tossed in the dumpster out back. We'll all be hovering around waiting to pick up the scrap.

That'd be cool. Or...I don't know, ride them? I'm giving serious thought to taking my Bontrager right from the exhibit and racing it at Keyesville.

Where is the exhibition? I read it was in the international terminal. Is it accessible without travel or use of gates?

Yeah, it's before security at the international terminal at sfo. Walk pass the ticket checkers and it's along the walkway along the back hallway.

Note: ending early FEB. Go now or miss out on a great collection of mostly norcal bikes.

The books were made for the participants of the exhibition. The SFO Museum isn't in the business of selling merchandise so there were no plans to sell any publicly.

A note I got from Megan - curator (at) flysfo.com - the curator of the exhibit after I shared this thread with her:

Oh, how interesting - thanks for sharing!
I'll let the exhibit's registrar know about the low tire on Steve Pott's bike. I may regret writing this (but I doubt it), but feel free to post this email account to the forum – if anyone wants a catalogue, they can email their mailing address to me and I'll put a catalogue in the mail for them. The exhibit will come down on February 4th, so if anyone has been putting off plans to see it, they'd better come soon.

The show is coming down sometime in February. For those who haven't seen it, now is the time to check it out!!!!

Not really, but "I know someone". I have a few copies left. Passion Trail bikes should have a copy in their customer lobby, but I can't verify that.

And the flat tire will be taken care of soon with the official SFO MTB "pumper".

I photographed the entire exhibit. Not sure if it's Kosher to post, but I would be happy to do so if folks are interested and think its ethical. It was without a doubt the best museum exhibit I have ever seen!

I don't think there's a problem with sharing pics of the exhibit. It is for public viewing after all.

Good stuff Colin. I had a hard time getting a clean shot without the glare.

If I had a lot of space and money, thats how I'd display my bikes.
