    Sacrilege???

Just finished a ride through the mud, rocks and fallen trees on the Raleigh while wearing a yellow Yeti Team jersey, Fat Chance Yo Eddy shorts, Etto helmet, Nike Poobahs and S-Works gloves. Socks were completely worne out Performance CoolMax. All early-mid 90s vintage attire.

Will I burn in the 7th ring of hell or will Santa give me a pass for such ignominious behavior?

Merry Christmas everyone and let's all have a safe and Happy New Year!

P.S. Yes I did ride wearing that getup in 39 degrees of mud sweat and tears. Had to strip before being allowed back into the house.

P.S.S. No, there are NO pictures. Too ugly all around.

I did some riding today, but more retro than vintage. It was certainly chilly - around 32F.

And yes, mismatched accessories and bike are unacceptable.

That looks exactly like the trails and environs around here. Unfortunately the soil content has much more clay so any precip leads to grease-like mud. Good ride, though.

Matching team clothing of hi-end brands with not so hi-end bike is indeed a MORTAL SIN.

Buy two and get the third half price

Costs about four power bar wrappers, a used water bottle and a Mt. Zefal pump

I have a couple of Techniums in the garage I stripped for parts. You mean somebody actually collects them. WOW, what will they think of next.

What if I put streamers on the handlebars? Would that make it better?

I had a Raleigh Instinct BITD and raced it once in Lynnwood. IIRC, I put playing cards in the spokes held there by clothespins.

Very cool sound - better than a T-disc.

Wait, maybe that was in the late 60s/early 70s and it was a Schwinn Lemon Peeler with the streamers and baseball cards ...

Well certain Raleighs might be worth collecting

As far as Techniums - well the one in the photo is not mine but I had one just like it.
In fact that photo looks exactly like my garage at the time including all the stuff on the shelves and positions of that stuff ... - maybe it was mine after all.

Served me well at the time and made the daily trip down Ocean Parkway over the Brooklyn Bridge up 6th to SVMC on 12th and 7th. When leaving SVH it was either back to Prospect Park or up to Palisades Parkway trail or to NJ to South Mountain Reservation. Heavy and slow of steering but did its job.

BTW - the sun rising between the Twin Towers as seen from the bike path on the Brooklyn Bridge was incredibly uplifting and inspiring for this Brooklyn boy. I miss that dearly.
