PSA: Forum Software Upgrade
Don't forget to read the announcement from gregg and francois. The forum software will be updated tonight at 10 pm PST. It will be unavailable for 5 hours, probably.
Not sure what will be affected but maybe save your pms, remember your password to get in and make sure your email address is current.
Also, I imagine there will be glitches so hopefully you'll remain patient while they work out the kinks.
See ya on the other side.

Tip: At the very bottom of the screen change the setting from fixed to wide
-
Thanks, Shayne. Looks the same...I think if it's fixed or wide?
p.s. this is really weird looking. However, I'm not too keen on change so hopefully I'll get used to it quick.

It makes a difference if you are viewing on a larger screen.
Need: Mountain Goat goat head fork.
-
If we are the vintage/retro board, why did we have to upgrade?
Each bicycle owned exponentially increases the probability that none is working correctly.
-
It's cuz you guys had passion! So it's all your fault.
Easier to reply, it seems. The autosave is nice. I'm not even going to mention how many masterpieces I've typed just to have it go *poof*.
Hmmm....
-
Ahhhhh, someone moved my cheese.
I knew it was coming of course, but didn't think I'd have to, think......
Meh, whatever, I'll get used to it eventually.
Thanks for the tip Shayne, that is better, must be the 21" monitor.

I don't know but maybe it has something to do with the width of your monitor? I can check....but they're kind of swamped trying to update the pictures which apparently...all 7 million need to get resomethinged.

Not sure I like the change......yet.
My gripes: What the hell is going on with certain thumbnails? they are all blocky and pixelated. Terrible! Not all just some.
the other thing I have noticed is that when you click in a thread you could easily go back to the main VRC forum by clicking at the bottom of a thread on "Vintage, Retro, Classic". now if you click on this quick navigation button you get a drop down of all the forums on MTBR. so I have to scroll way way down then I can choose VRC....just seems annoying. Doesn't seem to be quick at all.

The pictures being pixelated is because they're running a script to update all old images. This is a huge job because there are 7 million pictures on the site. Gregg thinks it will take over 4 days to process all of them, but it should be working from latest to oldest.
The second item is a total PITA and I agree with you. No word yet on if there's going to be a fix for that but it seems like the second biggest complaint after the picture complaint.

looks like I have earned the title "captain obvious" once again then.
thanks that makes sense.
-
Nah. Doesn't seem obvious to me! Although if you want to wear the superhero underwear, go right ahead.

That may be, it works on my Mac at home, but not on the PC at school. I will mess with the screen res and see if that fixes it. Thanks GOB!
