My wife and I actually chose to intentionally spend our vacation this year with a bunch or roadies, on a supported tour. I didn't ride a mountain bike, but I DID have the only old, lugged steel steed with 26" wheels and fenders! 350ish miles, a couple of big mountain passes (including one to 11,000 feet), 45 mph downhills, beautiful scenery, and my wife by my side. Awesome time. And the roadies weren't so bad, either.

    T,

The Moots looks fantastic...the quality of your builds just keeps getting better...

You're slipping on the dog build though...great looking pointer, but you have her collar upside down...details man!

Haha, got me. (Fixed my post)
Even if I had gotten the breed right I'd still be a goof though.

This summer was by far some of the best riding I have ever done. I dropped 30 pounds since January. This year I rode trails in Tahoe, Mammoth, Big Bear. I took the first pic after riding my modern bike down the lift assisted trails at Mammoth. I was switching to my Elgin for the downhill into the village. The second pic is somewhere near June Lake on the backside of Yosimite. Third pic is the beach.

Thanks. I just found another one that is in much better shape than this one was when I started. This time I am doing internal cable routing, rigid fork, disk brakes, modern shifting etc. Should be fun. I plan to round out my year of riding in Pisgah during the fall.
