I've hiked extensively in Fiordlands, New Zealand. An area that makes the pacific northwest look dry. Think 8 meters/year of rain and 275 days of it per year. They can get massive floods where entire valleys are covered.

I didn't look forward to this crossing on the second time but the third time it had a bridge.
The bridge is 4-5 feet above the water and the railing is another three feet above that. Notice the vegetation deposited from the floods on the railing? So yep, the waters really do go up to there sometimes. Another time I crossed a three-wire bridge with the waters churning just below the foot cable and the next time, the waters were well over ten feet lower.
Looking for: Really nice set of black M730 cranks
And Martin Cower, who was known in town for fits of fancy and not always being an agreeable type, took to the passageway with the intent to test his new theory, and though, interrupted, he ultimately retreated, but not before the initial experiment could be put to the test.
