Just because a correct answer has been given, does not mean that we can't continue to guess.

Looks like I've been outed elsewhere by Nick Martin of The Pro's Closet ( The Pro's Closet ). It was Nick and The Pro's Closet who sourced the bike and acquired it for me.

And I certainly have to give a BIG THANK YOU to Martin Kozaczek of Second Spin Cycles with whom I've done business on other bike things and who knew of my quest. He spoke with Nick who located and contacted me about the bike.

After much blood, sweat and tears a deal was struck and it will be here tomorrow.

In the mean time, I'll post the photos The Pro's Closet sent me prior to shipping.

BTW, it is THE bike tested and raced by the Mountain Bike Action Wrecking Crew and featured in the November 1992 issue of MBA.

The difference between it and the other two Raleigh John Tomac Signature bikes posted above is that it is one of the very few Litespeed versions with Green decals.

I won't mention the other Forum members who knew of and perhaps participated in this endeavor but my thanks to them as well for some behind the scenes work.

Build will be the original MBA test bike of course.

A very very big THANK YOU again to Nick Martin and The Pro's Closet who promise me that more exotic cool vintage bikes will be coming their way (and hopefully mine) in the future.

Pleasure was all ours Paul! I remember flipping through the magazines and dreaming of this bike when I was just getting into the sport! Glad it went to a deserving home. Looking forward to seeing the build when it is all dialed in.

    Best of Rides,

    Nick Martin

Definitely - just wish it were a Control Tech decal ... THAT would increase its value and cred at least 4.725 femto-cents and 1 1/2 PowerBar wrappers (mixed berry of course).

    Thanks for the props!

I have nearly everything already except a Mavic 231CD for the front. Waiting on some new elastomers for my Manitou 1 forks but in pretty good shape for the build. I have a photo of some of what I have in my first post of this thread.

    Thanks again

Now that I've come to my senses, I am in the midst of some parts exchange.

I've taken a black Tioga headset and quill stem off another bike (and swapped them for an Alchemy headset and silver threadless Tioga stem) so I can use the threaded Manitou, Tioga headset and Tioga stem on the new Litespeed Raleigh John Tomac Signature.

Yeah you are absolutely correct. I think DC has some Ti bolts - I will have to hit him up for whatever I can swap.
