    new bearings for Hugi Compact?

Anyone know the sizes off-hand? Need to order up some, unless there's another reason my rear hub suddenly developed left-to-right slop...

Found there are many possible causes for a hub to develop side to side play. First I'd check the bearing preload and if that does not help strip down the hub looking for a loose bearing race. Boca Bearing has some good replacements, but would need to see the bearings to know for sure what size. If there are no markings then take some calipers to the bearings getting them sized up.

Not to change the topic, but I'm looking for some end caps for a rear hub that I can machine down to a 130mm rear spacing so I may have more insight here once I can start the project.

on hugi's of this vintage there's no adjustment for preload, and yes, if no-one here has the info I will get my calipers; Hence my post: Does anyone know the bearing sizes off-hand?

I've had several DT 240 hubs develop lateral play. In a couple of cases it happened after they were laced to other rims. I replaced the bearings with new ones (using DT hub tools) but it was still there.

I know you asked about the Hugi Compact hubs, but I think the lack of pre-load adjustment is a design flaw that leads to this problem in both series of hubs.
