    Seat's too high.
Mountain bikers, hikers and horseback riders are not the enemy. Bulldozers are the enemy.

Most people here focus on vintage mountain bikes, but someone might chime in with something, you never know. There are a few Raleigh forums around the interwebs, and alsoa vintage board on Road Bike Review.

The best I can come up with is take a look at the serial number and go here Raleigh Serial Numbers & Charts

Raleigh serial numbers are all over the place and were even reused.

That model bike was around throughout the early to mid 70s. I wouldn't be too caught up in the chainguard being different though, if it is original to the bike, then Raleigh may have run out of the usual ones one day, you'd never know with Raleigh. They made 11,678,543,298,064 bikes over a 1473 year period, at least it would seem that way.

Oh, and that's a cool townie, nice pick up.

    Grumps
