    Marinovative Decelerators...

Does anyone have any Marinovative Decelerators layin' around that they would be willing to sell or trade to me? I've been looking for these for a while with no luck.

    What like these?

These ones are going on a Goat cross bike, but they do show up from time to time, and someone contacted me a few months back with another full set I had no use for. Generally they wen't pretty cheap too. Not a lot of people searching for Marinovative. Well, till now anyway.

Don't hate me because I'm beautiful. Hate me because now I'm gloating.

    Yes Those!

I can't believe you have a set of those. I've been looking for them for quite some time with no luck. Can you let me know who tried to sell you the other set. Is there anything you would trade for those brakes?

Oh man, I knew I shouldn't have shown those off, cause I can't get rid of em. I'm turning a whiskeytown Racer into a cyclocross showbike built with vintage mtb stuff, and these are the only brakes that will allow me to reach the 700c rims from the 26"std brakestuds & provide proper cable pull with road levers. If I had any alternative, I'd be happy to pass em on to you. Be glad that we're not looking for a set at the same time, cause I put down a $1,000 bid (& was willing to pay it) to get these to finish the build.

i don't know what fsp would say but i just dont think those brakes would have the desired retro'ness for show build on a whiskeytown racer.

A thousand bucks for Marinovatives? I'm confused. Why wouldn't you simply make some? Not much too it for a guy with access to a machine shop.
Show me your Toads. Old Brodies, too.

Good point Gona, yeah, I could make some, and don't think the thought of making copies (for myself) of my favourite parts hasn't occurred to me. But if I could even talk myself out of making any little improvements and just copied em to .0001" they wouldn't be authentic, and I'd know it, and it'd be a hollow, meaningless victory. I've got/had sets of nearly every trick little mechanical squeezer known to man, including the Record OR, Strange, Pauls, you mentioned Eli. Pretty much every brake ever produced but the ones made by companies that start with W. Westpine, Wasatch, & WTB. These were the only brakes that do what they do, as they do it, and they're the right era & everything. That's what I meant by if I had an alternative. Sorry mate, the best I can do for ya is try to find that fellows address. In the mean time, run a couple wanted ads around. I know they're online somewhere. Didn't mean to get your hopes up, just thought I'd share a pic.

Plus we're suddenly finding ourselves swamped working out our own lineup & getting the company rolling at the moment, so there won't be any convincing the fellas here to fiddle with non-marketable doodads for a while.

    Strange Brakes

Peterwhite is sold out of strange brakes.
Do you have an extra set of those you could sell?
Do you know who else carries them besides peter white?

a set is on ebay, and...

they come with this really cool looking ritchey as well. you could always buy the whole thing, keep the brakes and re sell it. or keep it.

if you really need them, here is a good chance.

sorry if anybody was really interested in this bike, just trying to help.

oh yeah, no it's not mine or even someone i know.

    purdy neat though.
