    Inconsequential eBay outing

    Same planet, different worlds.

    http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZproduceinmotion

This guy was probably pressured by his s.o. to get rid of the stable. Here's his half-hearted effort with an easily anticipated outcome. "I tried, honey, but the market is so flat! I guess, darn it, that I'll have to hang onto them a while longer. "

Not VRC material, but good for a chuckle. If not, ban me to the hinterlands of Roadbike Review.

The temptation to ask him if his wife's making him list them is overwhelming. $22,000 for the Colnago is outrageous but humorous at the same time.

I keep trying to tell you guys classic MTB collecting is cheap in relation to road or BMX. The first Colnago might be a bit high though, but not shocking or anything. We're not talking low numbers in hundred ballpark, more like a dozen, if that, in existence.

My guess though is they're being placed on-line to get an insurance value estimate. You don't get a collection like that without a cool spouse to start with.

Could be newly married and the s.o. wants the bikes gone.
They had to replace my metal plate with a plastic one

    the San (3) Rensho

pursuit bike is the one. Those were the best pursuit bars ever made AFAIC

yeah prolly doesn't really want to sell them, so if they go wants it to be worth his while

any s.o. who tells you to sell your bikes means time to shop for a new s.o.

the Huffy is most likely Serotta built

all those bikes would be a hard sell for 1/10th of what he's asking.

    maybe 1/20th?

You're all assuming he has a wife.

I think $3,000 is perfectly reasonable for the ugliest Bontrager in the world.

"produceinmotion" in Chicago... I'm pretty sure I know the seller, and if it's who I think it is, he has a lot more than those in his stable. He went on a tear buying up anything even remotely "cool" on two wheels back in the mid to late 90's, and it looks like he's posting a few to see if anyone will bite at those prices. Unless something bad happened to his company (wholesale produce sales to restaurants) he certainly isn't doing it for the money .
