Help recalling old thread - prewar aluminum bikes

Can anybody help me locate a thread from a couple of years ago, or steer me toward some other information? (manufacturer / model name, etc.):

There was a discussion, with photos, of some pre-war style bikes that were made of aluminum. I believe that the tubes were hexagonal, and that they had some really beefy-looking investment cast lugs at all the tubing joints.

I don't recall the brand name, and can't seem to pull up anything using the search function - but I seem to recall that several of you instanly knew what they were, and were even familiar with them.

    Thanks for any info.

Edit: well, I think I figured out the make/modle outside of mtbr: Monark Silver King. Still can't locate that damn thread though...

Wasn't it Aaron who put one of those together a few years ago?

Try going back a few pages in the cruiser threads.
Seek: Koski Trailmaster. Breezer Series 2, or 3. Fillet brazed Ibis Custom. Cunningham Racer. Otis Guy (but not that softride model). That's all I need I don't need anything else... except... except for an old Mountain Goat bar stem combo. And that's all I need. I don't need anything else. Except.....

Thank you GOB. Found the one I was thinking of (First aluminum bicycle...EVER! (least that's what I was told)) plus more. You're right - that was much easier than using theforum search function. I don't remember it being so useless last time I tried to use for actual "research."
