    Help identify titanium frame

    Has 1" headtube serial number j 19040 made in the usa. The person i bought this from claimed to work at merlin and claimed this to be a merlin. However i own 6 other merlins and none look like this so im hoping someone can help

    Merlin Mountain frame?

    I agree with FB looks like sanvik minus the water jet cut out drop outs they had later on. Have a DB ti frame with similar brake bosses and bridge.

    Agree, I have the same DBR Ti

    Some pics of my DBR, sorry for the quality. Note the brake hanger, and same style stamped serial #, dropouts on the DBR are cut out but the welds, and finish are similar.

    I also vote Sandvik made. Brake "loop" does look Merlin-ish though.

    Lightspeed had bullet type ends of chain stays, but they were not welded-on like these.

    Sandvik. Looks like a dean colonel ti. Made in the USA. I had one cica that vintage. It had plain cut dropouts like that. And the same brake bracket. Straight stays as well. I think the old diamond backs had s curve seat stays.

    My first year DBR Ti had straight stays, Diamond Back went to the "s" stays in year 2. But the 1 inch headset puts this frame too early for it t be a DBR.

    Merlin's never had serial numbers on the BB shell. Always on the inside of the drive side rear dropout.
