Has anyone got a pic of Tinker's General Cycles bike?
Never seen a full photo of the bike, and I'm quite curious about it... Does anyone have a pic? Info?

I think someone posted a race photo awhile back. Maybe a mag scan?
Zip ties? Not on my bike!
Want:
650B rims 80's vintage 32 or 36

I had an old Tioga ad, but You couldn't see the bike clearly. Does anyone know who made it?

What year? 1989?
I have some MBA from 89 and 90 and will try to look for a photo

Just finished flipping through July-Dec 89 and all of 90. Very few, all B&W and only one that you can see the bike at all.
If you want I'll scan that one and upload it here Monday afternoon.
Also have a video of 90s Worlds. If there's a shot of him I'll see if someway to capture it (I'm pretty low tech so it might be a photo of the TV).
On the ther hand, there were a bunch of pics of Tomes on his all-Ti Mongoose - which made me happy since I didn't remember seeing those before.

The bike looked like a Diamond Back Arrival with a Yeti fork on it. I was at a race when he was riding for General and he was so far ahead of everyone the organizers almost missed rerouting the course for him.

prob not what you were looking for

There was an article in Winning that had full specs and photos from all angles. I have a copy in my storage...not something I'll likely find any time soon though.

I am not saying that it "was" a Diamond Back Arrival, just that is what it looked like. Imagine this bike with decals that say "General" and a Yeti fork

There was actually no Axis then so the Arrival was the top of the line at that point.

sorry I thought we were talking 89-90, anything before that is before my time/knowledge scope.

Great pic. Dropouts look different than a DB Arrival... at least the '87 model.
Edit: And the seatstay to seat tube junction is different.

GREAT PIC!!!! Dropouts seem hand filed... however the seat collar seems different. Mistery frame....
What was General Cycles, tho????

General Bicycles was a brand started in New Jersey frames were made by Anlun, they were quite aggressive with their sponsorship in BMX and freestyle. They hit alot of price points in their line but were a bit harder to sell than the Stumpys back in the day.

Interesting marketing campaign. Hire one rider, no catalogs, no ads, no nothin!
Pretty sure I've never seen a General other than Tinker's.

Mtb or atb had little to no support as far as marketing but freestyle they dumped big bucks and lured big names back then. Come to think of it I dont remember a catalogue back then now that you mention it.

Anlen was quite a bug builder, so they might have welded the DB too...
