    Groundoggy

    Groundoggy,

You're fighting a battle that has been fought so many times before....and like all the others, you'll likely end up stomping off in a huff after uglying up the VRC clubhouse. This forum is unique, not everyone "gets it", and that is part of it's appeal.

Think of it like the old school little league where only the best team got a trophy...if you want to embrace the "everyone is a winner" politically correct philosophy of today's namby pamby sports there's always a trophy waiting for you at Retrobike.

    Steve,
No need to have any battles at all.
I liken this place to the small, local bar. The regulars set the tone and you go with the flow. You hang out with them long enough and you learn stuff you would never otherwise know.
You want different beer than is served, don't like the sawdust on the floor or some of the regulars, well there are plenty of other bars on the street that have just what you want.
As you said, part of the attraction of this place is the very thing some want to change.

    CCM, I agree completely....

Wasn't looking to battle by starting this thread, quite the contrary....
Groundoggy has been taking his soapbox to a lot of different threads, and in the interest of preventing a rash of thread derailment, I thought it best to just address it in a single place.

I was paying his mom a complement!

I've said it before, and Steve and I are probably a good example of how this forum tends to be...we didn't get along much when he was a rook forum user. Now its all fun and games.

Good one - never thought someone would refer to a stem as a gooseneck - was thinking pliers or desk lamp.

I recently had a kid point towards his rear derailleur and ask how much to fix his gorilla. It's a crazy world that we live in.
