Wanted to share my latest pride and joy with you and wonder if anyone has a nice rigid fork for it. It is NOS (was build once but unridden), large and frame No. 5
Corner points for the fork are: Rigid, straight bladed, 1 1/8" threaded steerer 185+ mm long, mild suspension geometry (410-415mm axle-crown). A Potts Type 2 would be the dream and i consider having one build. But as i am notorious impatient i thought i'd check here for a Type 2 or something similar.
You're collection of Merlin's is becoming even more impressive. Can help you with an alloy Miyata 'FatMax' fork in purple or pink, but I am pretty sure that's not what you're looking for.

Jeez Carsten, nice work! Where do you find all these? I might have a Type II. How long is your headtube?
Many people bash the XACD stuff, I've had my fork for 5 years with no problems. The fork is also irocically made to the exact specifications you indicated. I ride around off and on road with this fork on my Merlin XLM.
Merlin's came stock with Ritchey forks for a few years if I'm not mistaken and before that P2's. If it was my frame (and God I wish it was!!!) I'd go for the P2 right now and beg Steve to make you a Type II for the final build. With rollercam mounts.

Incredibly beautiful frame. Wouldn't it be better to put an equally curvy fork on it though for esthetic reasons? Actually now that I think about it, all the Newsboys I've seen have suspension forks. However, my KHS Fleetwood cruiser looks pretty great with a curvy fork on it.
I just realized that I don't have a single picture of my KHS but it looks just like this.
Sadly there's a very low probability of finding one for sale, but I've always thought that the titanium Willits strut fork is the epitome of elegance in cruiser forks.
...thanks for the answers and compliments. It indeed has a 1 1/8" head tube, 6" long. The Ritchey was the stock rigid fork for this frame and certainly a good fork but i want something more exotic. Geoff's Newsboy is a bit of a reference, i dont know anymore how often i stared at these photos...
Congratulations on buying my favorite MTB frame ever. I have straight legged Kona project II t-less in a satin ti color or a purple Giant cromo threaded straight legger (both 1 1&8th oems) that looks kinda like a Fat Yo Eddy rigid. I have a NOS Suntour XC pro headset Here's the closest I could find on the web of the Giant fork. <IMG SRC=https://www.firstflightbikes.com/_borders/WickedFork.JPG>
Check with these guys in Stateville, NC they have a vintage bike collection 2nd to none.
Termi,
whatever happened to that Willits(?) Full Sussy that you were building? Man, I haven't seen anything since it was the old boards... post some pics. The new boards miss your blingy ti pics to increase bike lust... come on now...

That blue fork on the little grey Wicked is indeed a Fat City fork, not the straight Giant fork that you mentioned. The fork is still at First Flight, but the frame is resides in my garage (Jeff sold me the frame but would not part with the fork). I built it up for one of the kids.
p.s that Newsboy is indeed one of the coolest bikes ever! Congrats to the lucky few that have one.
so finally i received the parcel i was waiting for so long. three weeks overdue, not sure where it got lost. but in the end everything turned out fine and i had a quick build late at night. will swap fork (Potts T2, only have to modify the steerer tube), brakes (black WTB rollercams front & rear), stem and maybe tires and then will post better pics.
Big thanks to Shayne and Dave and of course to Tim and Luke!
