    Fat Chance Titanium

I recently got this bike and while generally nice, definitely needs some work.

I plan to replace the front derailleur with a Record OR derailleur (yea, I missed the one that just finished on eBay) and plan to replace the brake levers with Record OR as well. I would like to replace the Jagwire front brake pads with Record OR, but barring that I'll put on black Kool Stop pads. The front cable hanger needs to go too. Best option would be to replace the fork with a threaded BOI, but barring that I plan to put on a Syncros jobby.

Nice pick up. The fork was Hubcap, no? Did they make it too long?

Yep. I think it is ok length - the bike was made for the Manitou fork, or at least a lot of 'em had it.

Have you thought about a Yo Eddy fork? I like the fatter tubing more than the skinny BOI. Yeah, it's heavier but the Yo fork just looks nicer! My 1992 Yo Eddy had one so it would certainly be period correct for your 93.

Yeah, just eyeballing it, it looks like the '93 (slightly sus corrected) a-c length (90-91-92 were all the shorter, fatter Yo forks). If you decide to get something else built, I agree with MDP that the Yo Eddy fork with its fatter legs would look awesome with the ti tubing size. Sweet bike!

You scored that? Damn dude, you rob a bank, or convince the guy it wasn't worth what he was asking?

Nice pick up. Got a buddy getting a Hubcap made for him next summer. I couldn't tell from the pics, are the welds nice? They looked like doo in the sellers pics, which doesn't jive with what I've heard about the guy.
This is a Pugs not some carbon wannabee pretzel wagon!!
