    Fake Klein Frame?

I've seen questions asked like this before here so I thought I would try:

    Is this frame fake?
Klein Attitude Large Aluminum Hard Tail Mountain Bike Frame | eBay

    Here is why:
    1. The seat post does not have a hole for the clamp, indicating that it is either a) fake or b) newer than 1996, but I did not think there was an attitude newer than 1996.
    2. Look at the dropouts. There is a funny conical weld. Even though there is a "K" in the dropout itself, the big bump in the weld is concerning and I can't find any other pictures online that confirm it.

What do you think? What year? The seller stated he did not know (#3?)

That's a Klein frame probably from the last year or two they were made...2006 or so.
They can still be dug up new (at BBC of all places. They had some NOS frames for like $399 a while back) for about the price of that auction so I don;t know why someone would go through the trouble to fake one.

Looks real to me. I have an early 2000's catalog with the Attitude in it. The dropouts look the same.

I'm not sure what year the catalog is from but I'd guess that's a 2002 or 2003. It includes the Palomino (full suspension) frame, which came out about that time.
Each bicycle owned exponentially increases the probability that none is working correctly.

Looks real. It's just missing the collar that goes over the seat tube.

It's real. I had one in that year and color scheme. I believe it's a 2005 Attitude V, originally equipped with a Duke fork.

    Edit: yeah, like this one:
