Do You Have One of These Bikes? If So We Need Your Help.

If you have one of these bikes you might be able to hep out on a really cool project:

    Trek 970 ZX, 990 ZX, 1995 8000, 1996 930 SHX

    Diamondback 1995 WCF Vertex

    Specialized 1995 Stumpjumper M2, 1995 Rockhopper A1FS

    Fisher 1996 Xcaliber

    GT 1997 STS-1, 1996 Zaskar, 1996 LTS Team

    KHS FXT

    Giant 1997 ATX 770/880

    Mongoose 1996 IBOC Team SX

    Univega Dual Action Pro

Barracuda 1995 Dos Equis XX, A2V

    Kona 1997 Lava Dome

    Jamis 1996 Diablo LE

    Klein 1996 Pulse II

    Ibis 1996 Szazbo/Mojo, 1997 Alibi

If you have a bike on the list, please take a look at the headset on it....

    does it look like this?:

Headset: Dia Compe Kontak ST in *silver*

If it does, we need it for this project:

It's the last piece of the puzzle....

    Thanks,

    Steve

Shame you need silver. I am pretty sure that is the black Dia Compe headset on my 1995 Yokota Yosemite. I would gladly donate it if it was the right one.

    Cool! Thanks for the offer.

Guessing we could always hit it with some oven cleaner...

Can you post a pic of your headset.

    What do you think DC?

With the persistence of eastcoaststeve, it has been determined that the headset we need is probably not a Kontak but a Dia Compe Ahead II. At least that it was is indicated by the old BikePro website.

BikePro.com / Buyer's Guide / Dia Compe Headsets - Bicycle Parts at discount prices / the Buyer's Guide / Bicycle Parts at their finest! / Professional Bicycle Source / Bike Pro

I don't know if there are any identifying marks, but it looks like a squared-edged cylindrical style cups.

Finally got a picture of my headset and it is not even close to what you have pictured.

Thank you for checking on this. The proper headset has been sourced for Susan's original sponser Dia Compe USA/ Cane Creek.
