Diamond Back/DBR serial numbers
Hi guys,
I have found what appears to be an Axis TT frame circa 93/94 but the serial number is DB not DBR.
I'd really appreciate any guidance on this and if the Axis was ever released as Diamond Back branded and not DBR. On a side note I see most Axis TTs have decals for DBR, maybe they are not accurate either?
Thanks for any assist,
Rich

Thanks mate, more photos received and is actually a dbr sn, assuming it's from the same bike, so we are good to go. Sn dbr 18244, very similar so guessing 94 also. Thanks for the help,

I'm confused what exactly you are asking for. Aren't Diamond Back and DBR (Diamond Back Racing) the same thing?
Need: McMahon brake for roller cam mounts, Mountain Goat fork.

Yes and no - they are related but different, the old inhouse racing division, some air of exclusivity etc. The DBR ti frames had a specific DBR prefix on the serial number, meaning that if the frame had one starting with only DB, it's authenticity would be questionable. But the owner was a bit poor in their comprehension skills is all.

Polished or matte? Decal color helps too. I had a '95 and I think the serial #'s are Sandvik specific.

It's brushed with triple cable guide on the TT rhs, I thought that indicated 93/94? Given its ~30 bikes later than the 94 model listed above, I'm guessing its 94. Must have been limite production given they're on other sides of the world.
