    "JACQUIE PHELAN

For me it was a time of not being at the top of my game and that’s when I created the Woman’s Mountain Bike and Tea Society [WOMBATS] so I could enjoy riding with people who weren’t hammers, and introduce women to a really fun and safe thing to do in the woods. There are no cars. You can get off and walk if you want to.

I re-framed mountain biking for women, with the usual lace, flowers, cheap perfume, and pearls.”

    Awesome

I had to pass on the invitation, which was expense-paid, to attend my daughter's graduation from the University of Oregon. Turned out to be a good thing, because during the graduation I had a bit of a health crisis that required surgery and kept me off the bike for three months. Would have been a bummer for that to happen while I was in France.

Why not? if it brings good info and good insight on the History of mountain Bikes, i will read it.. if it's only about the same "look at me" routine, i won't..

Why the animosity, Colker? What have your contributions to the MTB world been? I think RR is a link to so much history. I can't fathom why you'd be annoyed by him talking about him or his experiences. I personally enjoy it. If you don't, why attack?

Stick around for a while, you'll start to understand why.

I'm more surprised when I read a thread that is mostly neutral-positive since so many seem polluted with negativity by someone with a personal grudge. It didn't take long for this great, interesting post to get sidetracked.

Which post do you feel caused the side track? The one where it redirects the topic of the thread or the one where he was called on doing it (again)?

A personal attack seems like misdirection TO ME. Adding a comment didn't seem injurious to the thread (and was interesting) TO ME.

That's understood but there is a "history" here that you might not be aware of.
