    Cable hanger whatsit

    Anyone know what this is for? I don't. It came out of a junk box.

    I would imagine it was designed for an early pre v-brake FS bike, couldn't tell you which one though.

    Yeah, that skewers onto a seat post collar and is an ultra-bling version of a cable stop for canti's of some type.

    I had figured that, but was wondering what manufacturer's frame or brakes it worked with.

    It came off of some incredibly over-built bike frame.

    Don't think AMP is it, front was a single bolt thing and the rear was welded on IIRC.

    It came out of a shop that sold lots of Cannondales, if that helps.

    Based on the shape, the cable must have come up from the bottom of the bike - otherwise that part would collect mud and water. It has to a front derailler stop, or cable lock-out stop for a rear suspension frame.
