Burned my VRC funds for the rest of the year.....

Won't be posting any new bikes for a while. I made a purchase that kinda depleted my VRC funds. Feeding the beast with lift tickets will likely take its toll too. Have two unfinished projects which won't likely see a wrench till next December, an 87 Fisher Montare and a 97 Bontrager Race Lite.

Still conflicted. Duhno what I like more, tinkering with old bikes, of plowing through rocks. Pretty excited about exploring another segment of this crazy sport/hobby. Also that I have something new to do in this summer. Till next winter....

Hard to beat a modern fully when it comes to going fast down a hill. Lets be honest...the only reason to climb is to come back down.

I still enjoy the climb so I choose something that will do both well...great jump shot...enjoy the speeeed on the new steed....the lifts will be running soon for us again....cant wait...I usually choose a day of each for proper balance.

I don't know about that. There used to be a dedicated uphill race!

Wait, maybe you're right ... "used to be" being the operative phrase ...

When you get older, much of your hate comes from knowledge and experience, which is why really old people hate everyone

Neat Bonty--but I was wondering how it would burn your vintage funds for a year...then I remembered!

I look forward to seeing it repainted with NOS parts for $6,000 in a few months.

I'm in the same position Bing!...play with the old or ride the new? The older I get, the better newer, full suspension feel but you can't beat the ride/directness of the older bikes.

    It's like comparing an old Jeep...all utility...to a modern one...comfy.

    Decisions....

Strewth. You're the last bloke I'd expect would mouth off like a sheila who'd sunk too much turps.

You're lucky you're on the other side of the pond or I'd be giving you a right clout over the noggin with a cricket bat. Too right I would, ya flamin' galah!

Anyway, you're confusing us with New Zealanders, you drongo!

Google translate seems to be having trouble with that but I think I get the gist

Sheila - she lived 3 houses down from me when I was growing up in Brooklyn. A few years older than me and HOT. Good teacher, too. Don't know if she liked turnips, though. She did like other roots as I recall.

Cricket bat??? How big are the crickets there that you need a bat to kill them?

Flamin galah? Is that one of those girlie drinks? I prefer beer or Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio myself, depending on the occasion.

Wait ... Australia and New Zealand are different places? Damn, I thought it was a state in Australia - ya know, like New York, New Jersey, New Mexico ...

Be good or be gone (McSorley's motto)

Just havin fun with ya. Tough day and a bit of comic relief was in order.
