Bontrager factory single-speed seen at Toro XC race - Saturday

I chatted for just a moment with the racer on his orange Bontrager SS at the Toro park XC race this weekend. His fork was rigid, also orange in color, and looked at first glance like a Yo Eddy big 1". He mentioned the name of the fork manufacturer, but I've since forgotten.

Anyone know this guy or the fork I mention?

Yep, that's the one - thanks!

I'm thinking of converting a spare NOS Bontrager Race frame I've had a few years to single-speed, hopefully in a way that mimics the factory rear drops. Using a Walt fork (or Bonti composite if I can exercise patience in my search for one, though doubtful), in addition to mountain drop bars, is the direction I'm leaning.

I thought that you had one of your own now.
Each bicycle owned exponentially increases the probability that none is working correctly.

The top tube is super short. Like 21" short. So thats not ideal, but the long stem helps off set that. Seat tube is 18.5" center to center so I'm not in danger with a ton of seatpost showing.
A bit more cramped than it should be for my height, but I still really like the way it rides. I might like the way it rides more than my P-23 actually. You wouldn't think it was an 86 by looking at it.

You mean because all the parts are newer than that?

The owner hangs out on here occasionally. Too bad I never knew how rare that thing was on those SC rides or we could have taken CL out and then sold the bike to Hollister for like $20K.
