Any Treky fans out there? Photo heavy

Couldn't resist picking this up at an auction. Totally stock first offerings of mtb from Trek in 1984. Pretty nice SR stuff. It retailed for $499 .

Cool bike - I have an '87 830 (with chainstay u-brake, oval-tech rings, and unicrown fork) that I bought new and still ride. 1984 was the first year for the 830, but the first 850 was in '83 and had the older style Trek logo. I wanted one so bad! I had bought an '83 520 and saw the new 850 a few months later, but couldn't afford it. I would still love one if I could find one my size. Your 830 looks great! I plan to take mine on the Oregon Outback this spring.

Nice red 830! Looks like it is in really good condition. I have been looking at this trek 850 on my local CL for a few weeks now. I believe it is an '87. Looks to be in decent shape, but not quite my style as I tend to prefer early to mid 90's mtb's.

Here is my '91 trek 970 singletrack. I love this bike not just because it was my first "real" mtb, but also because the geo is so dialed in and it corners so well especially with the giant tires it can fit. Also the 1 1/8" True Temper OXII lugged tubing makes for such a comfortable ride.

And here is a radical video of some steel treks. I believe early 1990's singletrack 970's as well.
