Almost Ready to Cross the Repaint Line...

I know some of you guys don't flinch at a repaint, but coming from the vintage BMX crowd, I'm a lot more partial to original paint,
and would much rather have a "patina'd" frame with some character (ie rust, dings, etc) than a shiny new coat of modern paint or powder.

That being said, I just picked up a frame with the sole intent of repainting it in "team" colors...
It's really pretty rough, and I know I shouldn't care, but damn I'm already struggling with the strip...arghhhh.

I'll post up some pics tonight if I can and see what you jackals think.

Oh, well I guess everyone's out riding.

Here's a pic of the starting point for my repaint project....

The WTB Trek thread really got me interested, and seeing as how the chances of a "real" one ever popping up in my area are less than zero, this will likely be as close as I ever get.
I like the idea of saving this thing from oblivion, and I won't have to worry about busting up a piece of history if it gets hammered.

Anyone with a spare Potts fork they want to swap for the one in the pic? ;)
