New question here. '98 Rockshox Sid top cap replacement?

I have a 1998 Sid with the athletic needle air valve top cap. One of these is starting to wear and is difficult to air up. I want to replace them. Can you help?

I have believe the schrader valve aluminum 28mm version will work as a replacement, but, these are near impossible to find. I seem to be able to find a similar version that is listed as carbon crown only. Is there a reason that this carbon crown version will not work on my aluminum crown fork?

    Help... lol.

So, is '98 not classic enough? Or, nobody has worked on a 1st gen Sid?

I think i'm going to try the carbon crown version and see if it'll work. *crossing fingers*

Hi! I have the same problem.
Did you try the carbon crown version? Did it work?

    Already PM'd, but, for reference...

28mm top cap listed for 2008 and earlier carbon crown SIDs did work as a great replacement.
