    98 Homegrown Factory...short wheelbase edition.

    Sorting through photos and thought you guys might appreciate this pic.

    Taken in the Spring of '99, 5 minutes into the first ride after the snow melted on campus of Michigan Tech University. I remember toe overlap was an issue in this configuration.

    I can't recall if I've posted this before (I must be getting old!)

    I survived a 7' to flat header and all i got was this stupid contusion.

    7foot droop? trying out trials?.. anyhow, It's a 1997 Homegrown, the '98's came in Base Boat

    Amazingly enough, as I was racing the Cranky Monkey at Quantico yesterday and descending a very long steep hill, the guy in front of me dropped off the ledge at the bottom and had the very same thing happen to his bike except the tubes didn't break.

    The 7' drop was a roller that I rolled too fast...didn't realize I had even left the ground until I was talking to my buddy a couple days later who was following.

    Schwinn 8-Correct on the year. I replaced it with a '98...just sold it last year. I liked the darts paint of the '97 better though, rode better too.

    Here's the '98, after switching it to SS mode.

    You just need a front shock with more travel, it'll be fine.
