When Grayson Bain started producing the first RM bikes in 82 he had three retail shops in the city {Westpoint, Bayshore & Bikes on Broadway} selling as many Ritchey's made by Tom as he could ship. When that wasn't enough there was a pivotal meeting of the minds in Japan that divided business interests between all the bigs guns in North and southwest and southwest against southwest. Grayson had a great open realtionship with Tom so much so that at the RM frame shop they were pumping out the bikes made at Toyo and finishing the paint /build/decals in Vancouver. If you notice the the lugged frame headtube is identical on all the early RM framesets. Including the Blasphemy "Cananapurna" If Tom knew that his Ritchey USA decals were going on a lugged frame he would have been pissed.

Are you sure the fat city flyer you have there is a 1983? I would say its an 87'

I have one as well (I can post pics if you like) and it's a match to the 1987 Rocky Mountain catalog
