    Anyone tried the Oregon Scientific?

My buddy just got one. Looks pretty good. We'll see how it works.

No, but keep posting about this. I have only found a user review on REI.com which is positive, but sorely lacking in details. I'd really be curious to see some side by side footage with the gopro and contour

Reviving an old thread here to see if there's any updates on the ATC9K, good or bad.

I'm trying to decide if I ought to get a helmet cam, and if so, which one.

I'm looking at the tube cameras (Contour, ATC9K and Drift) vs the GoPro box.

I've seen some split screen videos and like the way the ATC's video looks and I love the fact that it's waterproof and I can take it swimming, but I've read some about some issues with Oregon Scientific which have me a bit hesitant.

I like the modular approach to the ATC; I can add the GPS module for $70 vs having to pay ~$100 for the ContourGPS. But do I need GPS to add to my clips (I carry a Delorme PN-60 when I ride to map my rides).

I've also read of at least one case where someone returned a ContourHD in favor of the ATC9K.

So... for those who've used it for a while now, would you get one again? Would you get one of the others? Would you recommend the ATC9K to someone (and that is someone you liked ) or would you recommend going with one of the others?

Oh, and one other consideration. REI doesn't have the Drift. As a member, I have my 20% coupon available now, or another in the future. Not a show stopper, but definitely a consideration!

They both are good videos... the ATC looks a bit brighter than the Contour.

Has your friend had any issues with the ATC?

No problems. It's nice to be able to see the video before you get home to the computer.
There are more videos on my vimeo page if you want to view more.

    I would imagine it's a good cam.
I have an Oregon Scientific outdoor enthusiast weather station and it's pretty decent.

Thanks, everyone. Decided to wait for now. I'll eventually get one, but now wasn't the time to spend that money.

So, the search and comparisons will continue....

I bought the OS ATC9K a few months ago but returned it after a few days. I found it too bulky for helmet mounting. YMMV. Also, the camera felt very 'plastic' to me and not particularly well built. No complaints about the features or video quality. The packaging just didn't work for me.

Bought a Contour instead and have been happy. The viewfinder on the OS was nice, but I don't really miss it much.
